CM expresses gratitude to PM, HM for Rs 44.55 Cr SDRF advance for Arunachal

Itanagar, Aug 2: Chief Minister Pema Khandu has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for approving the advance release of Rs 44.55 crore under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for Arunachal Pradesh.

In a statement, Khandu said the timely financial assistance would significantly strengthen the state's ongoing relief, rescue and rehabilitation efforts in flood-affected areas.

He also thanked the Government of India for its prompt response during the recent floods, including the deputation of an Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) to assess the damage and the extension of necessary assistance to the state.

"On behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh, I sincerely appreciate the Government of India's continued support to the welfare of our State," the Chief Minister said.

Arunachal Pradesh has witnessed widespread damage due to heavy monsoon rains and floods in recent weeks, with relief and restoration works continuing across several affected districts.
