LIKABALI, Aug 2: A team from the Public Health Engineering & Water Supply (PHE&WS) Department, Likabali, on Sunday conducted a field inspection of flood-damaged water supply systems in Tene Camp and Tene village following the recent cloudburst at Upper Ramle Banggo.
The inspection team, led by Executive Engineer Binga Gara and accompanied by Junior Engineer Mikshep Kadu and field staff, was initially unable to reach Koyu headquarters due to a road blockade between Tene Camp and Kakki village. As a result, the planned assessment of damaged water supply infrastructure at Koyu HQs could not be carried out.
The team instead inspected the damaged water supply systems at Tene Camp and Tene village, where they interacted with affected residents to assess the extent of damage and understand their immediate needs.
During the visit, the department also distributed grocery items to flood-affected families in both villages as a gesture of support.
Officials said the inspection provided first-hand information on the challenges faced by the affected communities and the damage caused to the water supply infrastructure. The department will undertake further assessment and initiate restoration work once road connectivity to the affected areas is restored. (DIPRO)
