ITANAGAR, Aug 3: Backed by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), an eight-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Universal Human Values (UHV), organized by the UHV Cell of the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), concluded today at its Seminar Hall.
The AICTE-approved programme was aimed at strengthening value-based education and promoting the integration of Universal Human Values into higher education. A total of 38 participants registered for the FDP, including participants from Himalayan University, Rajiv Gandhi Govt Polytechnic, and NERIST.
In his valedictory address, Prof Narendranath S, Director NERIST and Chairperson UHV Cell, commended the successful conduct of the FDP and underscored the need to combine technical excellence with ethical responsibility, mutual respect, and concern for society. He encouraged the participants to promote the principles of Universal Human Values in their teaching and institutional practices.
The valedictory function, hosted by Dr Nabam Teyi, member UHV Cell, saw a programme review by Dr Akbari Jahan, Coordinator UHV Cell. She highlighted the successful completion of the eight-day programme and expressed gratitude to the AICTE, the resource persons, the institute administration, and all participants for their wholehearted support and active engagement.
Participants shared their experiences and reflections, describing the FDP as an enriching learning experience that enhanced their understanding of Universal Human Values and their relevance in higher education. The resource team appreciated the participants’ active involvement and encouraged them to integrate the learnings into their academic and professional responsibilities.
The programme concluded with a brief speech delivered by Prof Sandeep Singh, member UHV Cell.
