PASIGHAT, Aug 3: Dr Tayek Talom has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Apex Professional University on 1st August, becoming the first person from Arunachal Pradesh to hold the post in the university’s 13-year history.
Dr Talom assumed office after taking the Oath of Allegiance administered by the University’s Chancellor, Acharya Dhanwant Singh, during a formal ceremony.
A highly respected academic administrator, Dr Talom previously served as the Director Higher and Technical Education, GoAP. He brings decades of experience in higher education governance, institutional leadership, academic planning, policy implementation, and public service.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Talom reaffirmed his commitment to building a student-centric university that empowers learners to achieve their full potential. He emphasized the importance of fostering innovation, academic excellence, research, creativity, discipline, ethical leadership, and employability among students.
The University expressed confidence that under Dr Talom's leadership, Apex Professional University will further strengthen its commitment to delivering high-quality, job-oriented professional education while advancing world-class research and academic excellence.
