LIKABALI, Aug 4: The Quarterly District Consultative Committee (DCC) and District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting for the quarters ending March and June 2026 was held today at the DC’s conference hall here under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Lower Siang Gobi Nyicyor.
The meeting was attended by representatives from various line departments, financial institutions and banks operating in the district, including SBI, NABARD, RBI and other banking institutions.
The meeting reviewed the progress of various banking and development-related activities in Lower Siang, with particular emphasis on the effective implementation of government-sponsored schemes, credit flow, financial inclusion and strengthening coordination between banks and government departments.
During the meeting, officials and bank representatives discussed issues related to the implementation of various government schemes, loan disbursement and recovery, banking services and challenges faced by beneficiaries. Measures were also deliberated upon to improve access to banking facilities and ensure that the benefits of government-sponsored schemes reach eligible beneficiaries in a timely and effective manner.
Addressing the gathering, the DC emphasized the need for a healthy and mutually respectful relationship between banks and entrepreneurs for sustainable economic growth. He stated that “banks and entrepreneurs should respect each other to thrive,” and stressed that beneficiaries must utilize loans responsibly and contribute towards the sustainability of government-supported schemes aimed at social and economic upliftment.
The DC also urged loanees to make timely repayment of their outstanding loan amounts, pointing out that responsible repayment would enable banks to continue extending credit facilities to other needy beneficiaries and aspiring entrepreneurs.
He further stressed the importance of close coordination between banks and line departments, timely disposal of pending matters and concerted efforts towards strengthening financial inclusion and promoting entrepreneurship and economic development in the district.
On the occasion, the “NABARD in Arunachal Pradesh 2025-26” booklet was also shared among the participants by the Assistant General Manager, NABARD. The publication provides an overview of NABARD’s initiatives and development interventions in the State.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from the participating departments and financial institutions towards better coordination, improved banking services, responsible credit management and effective implementation of development and welfare schemes for the benefit of the people of Lower Siang.
