YUPIA, Aug 5: In a humanitarian initiative to support victims of the recent flash floods in Arunachal Pradesh, the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) on Wednesday handed over Rs 2,05,732 to the Papum Pare district administration as the first phase of its statewide flood relief campaign.
The cheque was presented to Deputy Commissioner Hage Mamu by an IFCSAP delegation led by its president Dr Emi Rumi, along with general secretary Maya Murtem and IFCSAP Papum Pare district unit president CK Yab.
Receiving the contribution, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated IFCSAP's timely humanitarian support and said such initiatives reflect the spirit of compassion and unity among the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rumi said the assistance was raised through a statewide crowdfunding drive launched by IFCSAP following the flash floods that affected several districts.
He said the amount provided to Papum Pare district included contributions from the IFCSAP Bichom district unit (Rs 18,500), Pakke Kessang district unit (Rs 51,500), Papum Pare district unit (Rs 85,732) and the IFCSAP Central Executive Committee (Rs 50,000).
Dr Rumi added that financial assistance for other flood-affected districts would be handed over by Friday, marking the completion of the first phase of IFCSAP's relief initiative.
The organisation said the campaign reflects its commitment to standing with affected communities and promoting collective responsibility during times of natural disasters. (DIPRO)
