Itanagar, Aug 5: A labourer from Assam was killed and another injured in a landslide at a hydroelectric power project site in Arunachal Pradesh's Kurung Kumey district, an official said on Wednesday.
According to the Kurung Kumey District Information and Public Relations Officer, the incident occurred around 3 pm on Tuesday when debris and boulders rolled down a hill slope onto the Parsi Parlo Hydro Power Project site due to the landslide.
The deceased worker was identified as Nobin Doley, a resident of Dhemaji district of neighbouring Assam.
Doley died on the spot while another worker was extricated from the debris and taken to a nearby medical facility for emergency treatment.
The identity of the injured is yet to be ascertained, the district official said.
The project management team has initiated a detailed assessment of the site, and further administrative procedures are underway, he said.
