Seppa, Aug 6: The Department of Women and Child Development (WCD), East Kameng district, through the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers, successfully observed World Breastfeeding Week across Anganwadi Centres under Chayangtajo Block on Thursday.
The programme aimed to raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding in ensuring the health, nutrition, and overall well-being of both mothers and infants, with special emphasis on exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of life.
The event witnessed active participation from officials of the Block Mission Management Unit, Self-Help Group (SHG) members, AWWs, beneficiaries, and community members. The programme highlighted the significance of optimal breastfeeding practices and reinforced the collective commitment towards promoting maternal and child health in the district. (DIPRO)
