Niglok, Aug 6: An interactive Mock Parliament session and an awareness campaign on Fundamental Rights and Duties were organised at Sainik School, East Siang, on Thursday to foster civic responsibility, leadership and democratic values among students.
The programme was conducted by Itanagar-based NGO Let's Speak Arunachal under the leadership of its founder Porsum Ori and secretary Tana Jiri.
As part of the initiative, students of classes IX to XII participated in a Mock Parliament, gaining practical exposure to parliamentary procedures, policy discussions, public speaking and constructive debate.
Simultaneously, students of classes VI to VIII attended an interactive session on Fundamental Rights and Duties, aimed at helping them understand their constitutional responsibilities and encouraging responsible citizenship from an early age.
The cadets participated enthusiastically, displaying confidence and a sound understanding of democratic principles. Organisers said the active involvement of the students highlighted the value of experiential learning in nurturing future leaders.
Certificates of Appreciation were presented to participants in recognition of their enthusiastic participation and leadership during the programme.
The organisers said the initiative reaffirmed the shared commitment of Let's Speak Arunachal and Sainik School, East Siang to empowering young people, promoting constitutional values and strengthening democratic awareness, particularly among students in remote border areas.
