LIKABALI, Aug 7: The District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) review meeting for the month of August 2026 was held today at the DC’s office conference hall to assess the progress and implementation status of major ongoing developmental projects across Lower Siang district.
The meeting was chaired by Lower Siang Deputy Commissioner Gobi Nyicyor, in presence of ZPC Pakmo Koyu and his team of ZPMs, ADC cum DPDO Mokar Riba, DPO Henge Riba, CO Seren Peyom Jini and representatives of various engineering and line departments.
The DC, while reviewing the progress of the projects, stressed the need for timely completion, quality execution and effective monitoring of all ongoing developmental works. He directed the concerned departments to address bottlenecks promptly and ensure that the benefits of government schemes and infrastructure projects reach the people at the earliest.
The DC reviewed very specifically the department wise activities. He said that the momentum and work progress should move on and never halt. While exporting the agencies on hurdles he said that any government or private structure that comes in the ROW should be properly negotiated by constituting a committee headed by an administrative officer.
He wished that panchayat members also participate in DLMC meeting actively.
The ADC stated that the works department should keep the panchayat and locals in confidence before planning any development projects so that it can be implemented without any problem. He suggested that natural drainage should not be disturbed while undertaking road construction projects so that excessive erosion and extensive road damages could be lessened.
He emphasized that technocrats ought to go by technical approach rather than be induced or coerced by other factors.
During the meeting, the district head of departments presented in detail the status of project implementation, execution, progress and hurdles pertaining to the works under consideration in the district.
Representatives of the engineering departments briefed the committee on the progress of major works being undertaken across the district and apprised the committee of various challenges and constraints being faced during execution.
Earlier, DPO Henge Riba gave the keynote address and made a broad outline of the purpose and importance of the meeting. (DIPRO)
