ITANAGAR, Aug 7: In a significant demonstration of indigenous solidarity and community service, the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) has mobilised Rs 15,26,570 to provide humanitarian assistance to flood-affected districts across the state.
The fund, raised through contributions from IFCSAP district units and the Central IFCSAP, has been distributed among five of the worst-affected districts—Papum Pare, Keyi Panyor, Leparada, Lower Siang and East Siang.
According to IFCSAP general secretary Maya Murtem, Papum Pare received Rs 2,05,732, contributed by IFCSAP district units of Bichom (Rs 18,500), Pakke Kessang (Rs 51,500), Papum Pare (Rs 85,732) and Central IFCSAP (Rs 50,000).
Keyi Panyor received Rs 3,50,000 under the coordination of assistant general secretary (West) Ngurang Gagu. Contributions came from Keyi Panyor (Rs 40,000), Lower Subansiri (Rs 50,000), Kurung Kumey (Rs 2,00,000), Shi Yomi (Rs 10,000) and Central IFCSAP (Rs 50,000).
Leparada was provided Rs 3,14,373, coordinated by vice president (HQ) Bai Taba. The contributing units included Siang (Rs 30,523), Kamle (Rs 85,200), Upper Subansiri (Rs 30,000), Leparada (Rs 15,000), West Siang (Rs 60,000), Anjaw (Rs 15,000), Kra Daadi (Rs 28,650) and Central IFCSAP (Rs 50,000).
Lower Siang received Rs 3,40,115 under the coordination of Youth Wing president Taba Rad, with contributions from Tirap (Rs 53,000), Lower Dibang Valley (Rs 15,000), Lower Siang (Rs 26,065), Tawang (Rs 50,000), West Kameng (Re 41,000), Capital Complex (Rs 1,05,050) and Central IFCSAP (Rs 50,000).
Similarly, East Siang was allotted Rs 3,16,350 under the coordination of IFCSAP Youth Wing vice president Olom Perme. Contributions were made by East Siang (Rs 25,000), Upper Siang (Rs 34,850), Dibang Valley Rs 51,000), Lohit (Rs 15,500), Namsai (Rs 1,20,000), Longding (Rs 20,000) and Central IFCSAP (Rs 50,000).
The relief distribution began on August 5 and concluded on Friday, with the final instalment handed over to the Deputy Commissioner of Leparada district.
Expressing gratitude to all district units, office bearers and well-wishers, IFCSAP said the overwhelming response reflected the enduring indigenous values of compassion, mutual care and collective responsibility during times of crisis. The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting flood-affected families and extending humanitarian assistance wherever required.
