Khandu reviews NHPC projects, stresses faster execution and local benefits

Itanagar, Aug 7: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday reviewed the progress of major hydroelectric projects being implemented by NHPC Ltd in Arunachal Pradesh and stressed the need to expedite execution while ensuring greater benefits for local communities.

Following a meeting with NHPC Chairman and Managing Director Bhupender Gupta, Khandu said the state government is keen to see key hydropower projects move forward without unnecessary delays.

"We need to get these projects moving, cut the delays, build faster, and deliver results," the Chief Minister said in a social media post after the meeting.

Khandu noted that NHPC is making significant investments in Arunachal Pradesh and said such investments should translate into tangible benefits for the people of the state.

"NHPC is making big investments in Arunachal Pradesh, and that means big responsibilities too. Our people must see real benefits—more jobs, more local opportunities, and greater participation in development," he said.

The Chief Minister reiterated the state government's commitment to working closely with NHPC to accelerate project implementation while ensuring that local communities are active stakeholders in the state's hydropower-led development.
