SUNPURA, Aug 8: The 9th Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Lohit, conducted a plantation drive at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Sunpura, on Saturday, planting around 3,000 saplings in and around the school premises.
The drive was organised under the direction of Vipin Joshi, Commandant (CCD), 9th Bn ITBP. Dr Vaiju S Karlewad, CVO, AC/GD Neetu Yadav, ITBP personnel, and students and staff of VKV actively participated in the programme.
The initiative aimed at promoting environmental conservation and ecological restoration while creating greater environmental awareness among school students.
The plantation drive also highlighted the ITBP’s commitment to involving local communities and the younger generation in efforts to protect and preserve the environment.
