Panch Sammelan ‘sensitizes’ PRIs on VB-G RAM G in Namsai dist

NAMSAI, Aug 8: A district-level Panch Sammelan for sensitization of elected representatives and functionaries of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) on Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) was held at the DC’s conference hall here under the chairmanship of Namsai Deputy Commissioner Lobsang Tsering.

The meeting was attended by all Gram Panchayat Chairpersons (GPCs), Gram Panchayat Members (GPMs), PRI members, Block Development Officers (BDOs), and concerned block-level officers/officials.

During the meeting, N K Namchoom, ADC-cum-District Panchayat Development Officer Namsai, sensitized the participants on the importance of the scheme, particularly its focus on four priority areas—water security, rural infrastructure, livelihood infrastructure and climate resilience.

She also highlighted the significance of the Viksit Gram Panchayat Plan (VGPP) and stressed the need to prepare plans at the grassroots level in alignment with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. She urged the elected representatives and PR functionaries to actively participate in planning and implementation to ensure that the benefits of development schemes reach the intended beneficiaries.

Addressing the gathering, the DC emphasized the crucial role of GPCs, GPMs and other PR representatives in ensuring effective grassroots development. He urged the elected representatives to make full use of the technical guidance and inputs provided by the concerned BDOs and to work in close coordination with the District Administration and line departments.

The DC further stressed the importance of clearly understanding their respective roles and responsibilities for overall development of Namsai district. He also highlighted the important role of PRIs in creating awareness among communities and contributing towards the collective efforts to eradicate drug menace from the district.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on strengthened coordination among PRIs, Block-level functionaries and the DA for effective implementation of VB-G RAM G and other developmental schemes.

The participants were encouraged to ensure proper planning, convergence, transparency and adherence to the prescribed guidelines for successful implementation of schemes and sustainable development of Namsai district. (DIPRO)
