LONGDING, Aug 9: The Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Wakka town in Longding district, providing free healthcare services and essential medicines to residents of Wakka and adjoining villages.
The camp witnessed a good response from the local population, with a team of medical personnel conducting general health check-ups, consultations and treatment for various common ailments. Awareness sessions on preventive healthcare, personal hygiene and disease prevention were also conducted during the camp.
A total of 383 patients benefited from the initiative, including 135 males, 175 females and 73 children.
The medical outreach provided much-needed access to basic healthcare services for residents of remote and underserved areas of the district.
Local residents and community leaders expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for organising the camp and appreciated its continued efforts towards improving the health and well-being of the local population.
The initiative also highlighted Assam Rifles’ continued focus on community welfare and healthcare outreach in remote areas, while contributing towards strengthening trust and goodwill with the local population.
