BOMDILA/NAFRA, Aug 10: Tiranga bike rallies were organised in Bomdila and Nafra on Monday as part of the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and celebrations marking 150 years of Vande Mataram.
In Bomdila, the West Kameng district administration, in collaboration with the Department of Art & Culture, organised the rally which was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Dr Dilip Kumar from Kameng Club.
The rally proceeded through the bypass road via Hawa More, covered the Bomdila market area and re-entered the township through the Bomdila Welcome Gate.
Appreciating the enthusiastic participation of bikers, the Deputy Commissioner urged citizens to uphold the spirit of patriotism and actively participate in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, being observed from August 9 to 17.
West Kameng Superintendent of Police Dorjee Wangdi Thongon, who also participated in the rally, said the Tiranga Bike Rally was a powerful medium to spread the message of patriotism and strengthen citizens’ sense of pride and responsibility towards the nation.
Officials from various departments, students, members of the public and representatives of the BJP’s West Kameng unit participated in the rally, carrying the national flag and raising patriotic slogans.
Meanwhile, a Tiranga Yatra was also organised at Nafra in Bichom district under the Har Ghar Tiranga and Vande Mataram campaigns.
The rally was flagged off by Additional Deputy Commissioner (HQ), Bichom, Maryom Karlo, from the petrol pump at Khellong Colony, Nafra.
The motorcycle procession, with participants carrying the Tricolour, passed through Bichom Tinali at Longtin village before culminating at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Nafra.
The district administration described the rally as a celebration of patriotism, unity and national pride and expressed appreciation to participating government departments, PRI members, youth groups, NGOs, community organisations and citizens for their active participation. (DIPROs)
