ZIRO, Aug 10: As part of the Centre’s ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative, the Lower Subansiri district administration conducted its maiden District Level Steering Committee (DLSC) meeting at the District Secretariat’s Golden Jubilee conference hall here today to give a thrust to rural prosperity and women’s economic empowerment.
The meeting brought together key officials, departmental heads, and grassroots leaders to map out a clear path for uplifting local families.
Led by Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Oli Perme, the meeting focused on turning “grand” vision into practical, ground-level action. Rather than viewing the initiative as just another bureaucratic target, the committee approached it as a deeply human mission, one dedicated to helping rural Self-Help Group (SHG) households secure a sustainable annual income of at least Rs 1 lakh.
To make this a reality, the team zeroed in on breaking down traditional silos between government departments.
The DC strongly urged leaders from the Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, and Rural Development sectors to link arms with the Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM). By combining resources and expertise, the district aims to give women entrepreneurs the comprehensive support they need, from farming and livestock training to financial guidance.
ZPC Hibu Dui, senior officials from the DRDA, Block Mission Management teams, and community representatives from Hong, Hari, and surrounding areas reviewed block-by-block progress reports, discussed real-world challenges on the ground, and began identifying high-performing ‘Potential Lakhpati Didis’ who deserve recognition and extra support.
As the meeting wrapped up, clear directives were issued for every department to roll up their sleeves, submit updated status reports, and work hand-in-hand with DMMU Ziro to keep the momentum going. (DIPRO)
