TAWANG, Aug 10: As part of the preparations for Census 2027, the Directorate of Census Operations, Arunachal Pradesh, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, organized a one-day district-level training programme on the District Census Handbook (DCHB) 2027 at the DC’s office conference hall here today.
The training programme was conducted by Phiralin Passah, Deputy Director of Census, and Daniel Jones, Junior Consultant, Census Operations, who imparted training in details to the field functionaries on various aspects related to the preparation of the District Census Handbook 2027.
The resource persons familiarized the participants with the procedures, responsibilities and requirements involved in the systematic compilation of district-level information, while underlining the need for accuracy and consistency at every stage of the exercise.
Earlier, Tenzin Jambey, Assistant Commissioner-cum-Assistant Director Economics & Statistics, in his address, urged the field functionaries to remain attentive throughout the training and make full use of the opportunity to get their doubts cleared with the resource persons.
Highlighting the importance and sensitive nature of Census work, he called upon all functionaries to discharge their responsibilities with utmost sincerity, accuracy and commitment. He emphasized that reliable Census data forms the foundation for effective planning, informed policymaking and implementation of developmental programmes.
The programme provided an important platform for strengthening the preparedness and capacity of field functionaries ahead of Census 2027. The training is expected to contribute towards the systematic, reliable and accurate compilation of demographic and socio-economic information for the District Census Handbook.
With Census data playing a crucial role in understanding population trends, socio-economic conditions and developmental requirements, the training marks another significant step towards ensuring a credible and comprehensive Census 2027 exercise in Tawang district. (DIPRO)
