YACHULI, Aug 11: The Keyi Panyor District Employees’ Forum (KPDEF) has contributed Rs nine lakh towards relief and rehabilitation of families affected by the recent cloudburst at Possa Yazali.

A delegation led by KPDEF vice president (admin) Neelam Teji, accompanied by DDSE (ICR) Tabia Chobin, secretary general Taba Nepa and other executive members, handed over the cheque to Keyi Panyor Deputy Commissioner Ankita Mishra for extending assistance to disaster-affected families.

Receiving the contribution, Mishra appreciated the timely initiative of the KPDEF and lauded district employees for standing in solidarity with affected families. She said collective efforts by different sections of society would strengthen the ongoing relief and rehabilitation measures.

Teji said the Rs 9 lakh fund was collectively raised by employees of the district and described the contribution as an expression of solidarity with those affected by the natural calamity.

“Our collective contribution is a small effort to extend support and solidarity to the families who have suffered due to the cloudburst. We stand with them in this difficult hour,” he said.

The KPDEF leadership expressed hope that the contribution would provide immediate assistance to affected families and supplement the relief and rehabilitation efforts being undertaken by the district administration.

The KPDEF members reiterated their commitment to extending all possible support to the administration and affected communities as recovery and rehabilitation efforts continue.
