KBM School wins 3rd Annual Akashvani Tezu Freedom Quiz

TEZU, Aug 12: Krick & Boury Memorial (KBM) School, Tezu, emerged winners of the 3rd Annual Akashvani Tezu Freedom Quiz organised as part of the run-up to Independence Day celebrations in Lohit district.

The quiz, held for students of classes 9 to 12, was organised jointly by Akashvani Tezu and Bamboosa Library and compered by the Forum of Library Activists, Medo.

The KBM School team comprising Krishanso Kri, Jesan Mepo and Ankita Manyu secured the first position in the keenly contested quiz.

St Joseph’s School, Manyuliang, Medo, represented by Anu Rai, Rima Begum and Subi Sona, and Govt Higher Secondary School No. 1, Tezu, represented by Arpita Ram, Joshua Tangha and Kesam Towang, shared the second position.

The winner of the previous two editions, VKV Tafrogam, comprising Gyammar Kumshi, Deter Baghi and Nang Chandni Mantaw, finished third.

In the individual category, the preliminary written quiz held on August 6 saw Lune Kening of VKV Sunpura secure the first prize. Deter Baghi of VKV Tafrogam won the second prize, while Jason Mepo of KBM School, Tezu, secured the third prize. Rima Begum of St Joseph’s School, Medo; Arpita Ram of GHSS No. 1; and Gyammar Kumshi of VKV Tafrogam received consolation prizes.

The quiz was conducted by quiz master Uncle Moosa. The programme will be broadcast by Akashvani Tezu on August 14.
