NAMSAI, Aug 12: As part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026, a mass Tiranga Rally was successfully organized today from Namsai 2nd Mile to the District Secretariat, displaying a grand spectacle of national pride and unity across the district.
The mega rally was led by Deputy Chief Minister Dr Chowna Mein, in presence of Women & Child Development, Cultural Affairs, and Science & Technology Minister Dasanglu Pul; local MLA-cum-Adviser to Minister for RWD, Sports & Youth Affairs, Zingnu Namchoom; Deputy Commissioner Lobsang Tsering; Superintendent of Police; ZPMs; public representatives; and HoOs, among others.
A large crowd of enthusiastic citizens, alongside personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and State Police, marched carrying the national flag toward the District Secretariat.
Following the rally, a formal programme was held at the District Secretariat premises, which commenced with a rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ by students of AUS and Kendriya Vidyalaya.
Speaking as chief guest on the occasion, the Dy CM noted that the 5th edition of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was launched on August 9, 2026. He stated that the initiative embodies the values of nationalism and civic pride, encouraging citizens across the State to actively take part in strengthening national solidarity.
In his address, the MLA emphasized the significance of the campaign and called upon all sections of society to join hands to further strengthen patriotism and national unity.
Earlier, the DC highlighted the symbolism of the Tiranga as an emblem of patriotism and unity, urging citizens to respect the national flag and actively participate in the campaign.
District Art & Culture Officer Milingta Namchoom highlighted the contributions of everyone who had contributed to the successful conduct of the mega event, which featured a patriotic musical performance by the Assam Rifles band.
The programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem. (DIPRO)
