MAGO, Aug 13: The spirit of patriotism soared high in the remote frontier villages of Tawang as a grand Tiranga Yatra was organized across Chuna and Mago Sector Vibrant Villages, situated at an altitude of around 13,000 feet, to commemorate 150 years of Vande Mataram and the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign.
The programme was organized by the Jang Sub-Divisional Administration in collaboration with BJP Mandal 3-Mukto, Indian Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the villagers of Mago and Chuna.
The Tiranga Yatra was flagged off by ZPC Leki Gombu, in presence of ZPM Mogto Pema Tsering, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jang Hakraso Kri, Assistant Commissioner Thingbu Thutan Wangchu, senior officers of the Indian Army and ITBP deployed in the Mago sector, Panchayat leaders of 3-Mukto Assembly Constituency, HoOs and local residents.
A major highlight of the programme was the carrying of a magnificent 300-metre-long tricolour from Chuna to Mago village. Against the breathtaking backdrop of the high Himalayan mountains, participants proudly carried the Tiranga through the remote border landscape, transforming the yatra into a powerful expression of national unity, pride and patriotism.
Addressing the gathering, the ZPC appreciated the strong and enduring bond shared by the residents of these remote Indo-Tibet border villages with the Indian Army and other security forces deployed along the frontier.
He also requested the Army and security agencies to continue extending their support and assistance to the people residing in these difficult and strategically important border areas.
The ADC said that the overwhelming participation of villagers, security personnel, Panchayat representatives and officials reflected their deep respect and affection for the national flag.
The Tiranga Yatra at Chuna–Mago was more than a celebration—it was a powerful symbol of the patriotism of India's frontier communities and the enduring partnership between the people, civil administration and the armed forces guarding the nation’s borders.
At 13,000 feet, where the mountains stand sentinel over the nation’s frontier, the Tiranga flew high—carrying a message of unity, courage and an unwavering love for India. (DIPRO)
