ITANAGAR, Aug 18: With a view to sensitize students and the university community about the adverse consequences of ragging and promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment, Himalayan University conducted an anti-ragging awareness programme at its premises here today.
Gracing the programme as chief guest, DIG Tumme Amo delivered an insightful and thought-provoking lecture on the prevention of ragging. Through his address, he sensitized students about the importance of discipline, mutual respect, responsible conduct, and awareness of the legal and social consequences associated with ragging. His valuable insights and practical guidance left a meaningful impression on the participants.
The programme also featured an inspirational address by the HU Vice Chancellor, who emphasized the university’s commitment to maintaining a safe, dignified, and student-friendly campus. He encouraged students to uphold ethical values, respect one another, and contribute collectively towards creating a positive academic environment free from ragging and discrimination.
Vijay K Tripathi, Registrar HU, highlighted the significance of organizing awareness programmes to strengthen the university’s collective resolve against ragging.
Tad Nime, HoD Management (HU), who efficiently coordinated the proceedings, ensured the smooth conduct of the event.
Around 110 participants, comprising university officials like Dean Research, Head Admin, DSW, Director IQAC, HoDs, faculty members, staff and students actively participated in the programme.
The event reaffirmed HU’s commitment to a zero-tolerance approach towards ragging and its continuous efforts to foster a secure, respectful, and conducive learning environment for every student.
