DPC meeting held in Daporijo to finalise development plans for 2026–27

DAPORIJO, Aug 19: A meeting of the Upper Subansiri District Planning Committee (DPC) was held at the DC Conference Hall here on Wednesday to deliberate on and finalise the Zilla Parishad Development Plan (ZPDP) and Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for 2026–27.

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner and attended by the Zilla Parishad Chairperson, Zilla Parishad Members, heads of departments and line departments, and Member Secretaries of Gram Panchayats.

During the meeting, the concerned Member Secretaries presented the GPDPs through PowerPoint presentations, outlining developmental priorities, proposed activities and interventions identified at the grassroots level for the coming financial year.

The committee deliberated on the proposed plans with emphasis on need-based, participatory and convergent planning, ensuring that development interventions are aligned with local needs and available resources. The importance of coordination between Panchayati Raj Institutions and line departments for effective implementation was also stressed.

A separate discussion was held on Solid Waste Management (SWM), focusing on scientific waste management, source segregation, cleanliness and sustainable waste disposal practices across the district.

The meeting stressed the need for collective ownership and coordinated efforts by elected representatives, Panchayati Raj Institutions and line departments to ensure effective implementation of the development plans and achieve tangible outcomes for the people of Upper Subansiri. (DIPRO)
