ITANAGAR, Aug 20: The Arunachal Photography Club (APC) celebrated World Photography Day 2026 with the official theme “Home”, marking a new chapter in the journey of the photography community in the State.
With the APC shifting its location, the new space is envisioned not merely as an office, but as a creative home for photography enthusiasts and APC members—a space for collaboration, learning, brainstorming over coffee and, above all, friendship, brotherhood and shared laughter. The facility will also feature a photography studio and theme- and photographer-based photo exhibitions.
Speaking on the occasion, APC president Dr Radhe Natung highlighted the Club’s growing focus on youth engagement and empowerment, including initiatives such as ‘The Platform’ and the ‘Together We Can’ awareness campaign against drugs.
As part of its youth engagement initiatives, APC also signed an MoU with Lumdung Football Club (LFC) to promote sports, creativity, skill development and meaningful opportunities for young people.
Earlier in the morning, APC organised a photowalk at Ganga Market, mentored by photographer Jummar Basar, on the theme “Lens Tells Tales.” 12 participants took part in the walk, exploring the everyday through their lenses and visual storytelling.
An online photo contest was also organised to encourage photography enthusiasts to see, feel and tell visual stories through photography.
Geken Riba emerged as the winner, while Kenjing Dai secured the runner-up position. Both were awarded cash prizes and certificates.
