On maiden visit to Dadam circle HQs, Tirap DC takes stock of its functioning

KHONSA, Aug 22: Tirap Deputy Commissioner Badonlum Tawsik, accompanied by DLRSO Lomin Lungchang, DCIO (SIB), PI Timat Nokbi, and ATDSU Convenor Khiapgi Agi, undertook his maiden visit to Dadam circle headquarters today to assess the functioning of key administrative, educational and healthcare institutions, review challenges being faced under the Dadam administrative HQs, and inspect a proposed site for establishment of an SIB Camp at Dadam.

During his visit to Dadam, the DC inspected the CO’s office; Govt Sec School; Tirong Aboh Primary Health Centre (TA-PHC); police station, CRPF and Assam Rifles camps. At the PS, he interacted with the Officer-in-Charge (I/C) and took stock of the prevailing law and order situation.

At GSS Dadam, the DC interacted with the headmaster-in-charge and teaching staff and reviewed the school’s academic performance.

Taking note of the shortage of boys’ hostel accommodation, the DC assured the school authorities that the matter would be taken up with the higher authorities of the Education department for necessary action. Regarding irregular power supply, he assured that the matter would be discussed with the executive engineer of the Power Dept to improve the power supply to the institution.

At TA-PHC, the DC reviewed the availability and deployment of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff. He also inspected the stock of medicines and directed the Medical Officer-in-charge to ensure proper verification of expiry dates before medicines are issued to patients.

The DC urged the medical staff to discharge their duties with sincerity, dedication and a strong sense of responsibility to ensure effective and timely healthcare services to the public. Taking note of complaints regarding frequent power disruptions, he assured that the matter would be taken up with the EE (Electrical) for ensuring adequate and uninterrupted power supply to the health centre.

During his inspection of the CO’s office, the DC interacted with the office staff as well as personnel of the CRPF and Assam Rifles deployed at Dadam. He took stock of the prevailing law and order situation and reviewed issues concerning the effective functioning of the administrative headquarters.

The DC also inspected the proposed site for the SIB Camp at Dadam and reviewed matters related to site selection and other requirements.

The maiden visit of the DC to Dadam circle headquarters was aimed at assessing the functioning of the administrative outpost and ensuring that essential sectors, particularly education and healthcare, are operating efficiently with adequate facilities and manpower. (DIPRO)
