TAWANG, Aug 24: Students of PM SHRI School Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Tawang, showcased their innovative ideas and scientific projects during a special demonstration organised under the School Innovation Council (SIC) to mark the National Space Day on August 23.
The initiative provided students with an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, scientific temperament, problem-solving skills and innovative approaches through a series of student-developed models presented during the morning assembly.
A major attraction of the programme was the Smart Waste Segregation System, developed and demonstrated by the students. The model sought to promote proper segregation of waste and responsible waste management through the application of science and technology.
During the demonstration, the students explained the functioning of the system and highlighted the importance of segregation at source in promoting cleanliness, recycling and environmentally responsible waste disposal. They also discussed how scientific and technological solutions could contribute to more sustainable waste-management practices.
Speaking on the occasion, JNV Tawang Principal ML Meena appreciated the efforts and creativity of the participating students and the School Innovation Council. He encouraged students to observe challenges in their surroundings and use science, technology and innovation to develop practical and sustainable solutions.
He emphasised that innovation begins with identifying real-life problems and finding simple and effective ways to address them. He also encouraged students to actively participate in SIC activities and transform their ideas into useful prototypes that could benefit society.
The project demonstrations provided students with hands-on exposure to innovation, design thinking, scientific exploration, teamwork and problem-solving, while reinforcing the importance of environmental responsibility and sustainable living.
The initiative also reflected the School Innovation Council’s efforts to encourage experiential learning and enable students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges.
JNV Tawang continues to provide students with opportunities to explore new ideas, experiment with innovative concepts and develop practical solutions aimed at promoting creativity, sustainability and scientific thinking. (DIPRO)
