ANINI, Aug 25: The Dibang Valley District Planning Committee (DPC) approved various development proposals under the Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs) and Zilla Parishad Development Plan (ZPDP) for the financial year 2026–27 at a meeting held here on Tuesday.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Yashwant Meena, brought together Panchayati Raj representatives, Heads of Departments and officials to deliberate on development priorities and proposals for the district.
Addressing the meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jally Umpo emphasised the role of the DPC in ensuring participatory, inclusive and need-based planning at the grassroots level.
Zilla Parishad Chairperson Sadhu Mihu highlighted various ongoing government schemes and programmes and stressed the need for coordinated efforts among Panchayati Raj Institutions and government departments to ensure that development benefits reach all villages and households.
He urged ZPMs and Member Secretaries to provide necessary guidance to Gram Panchayat Members and Gram Panchayat Committees in preparing and implementing development plans effectively.
Member Secretaries placed their respective proposals before the committee, which were discussed in detail. The schemes and proposals were subsequently approved unanimously.
The Deputy Commissioner urged Panchayat representatives to work with greater transparency, coordination and commitment. He also directed technical departments to extend timely technical assistance to PR Institutions to ensure realistic planning and quality execution of development works. (DIPRO)
