PASIGHAT, Aug 26: The first-ever Agniveer (General Duty) Recruitment Rally for 2026–27, conducted by the 1 Arunachal Scouts at Pasighat Stadium here, entered its third day today, providing an important opportunity for young aspirants from Arunachal Pradesh to join the Indian Army.
The five-day recruitment rally aims to encourage eligible youth to pursue a career in the armed forces and serve the nation with discipline, courage and dedication.
Under the Agniveer scheme, selected candidates are offered a monthly salary in the range of approximately Rs 21,000 to Rs 30,000, along with applicable allowances. Agniveers are also entitled to a Seva Nidhi package of around Rs 12 lakh upon completion of four years of service, subject to applicable rules.
An insurance coverage of up to Rs 48 lakh and risk and hardship allowances of approximately Rs 7,469 per month are also among the benefits.
After completing four years of service, up to 25 per cent of Agniveers, based on performance and organisational requirements, may be selected for permanent service in the Indian Army.
Transport Minister Ojing Tasing, who visited the recruitment rally at Pasighat Stadium after returning from the District Interaction Programme, interacted with the enthusiastic young aspirants.
He commended the Indian Army for bringing the recruitment opportunity to Arunachal Pradesh and said it would enable many young people in the State to aspire to a life of discipline, honour and service to the nation.
He appealed to the youth to remain physically fit, disciplined and prepared to make use of opportunities to serve the country.
The minister also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Pema Khandu for approving 20 percent reservation for Agniveers in the State uniformed services in forthcoming recruitment processes.
He said the decision would provide Agniveers with continued avenues of service after completing their tenure in the armed forces.
