TAWANG, Aug 29: Students from 15 secondary and higher secondary schools across Tawang district showcased their knowledge, creativity and scientific temperament at the district-level Governor’s Quiz Competition, Science Seminar and Science Exhibition held at Government Town Secondary School here on Saturday.
The event was organised by the Department of Education, Tawang, with the Governor’s Quiz conducted under the Governor’s Quiz Competition and the Science Seminar and Exhibition held under the Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA).
The participating students demonstrated their academic knowledge, problem-solving abilities and innovative ideas through the three competitions.
Tawang DDSE Hridar Phuntsok, who attended the programme as chief guest, appreciated the students and teachers for their enthusiasm and innovative efforts. He particularly praised the working models based on new and renewable sources of energy.
Phuntsok said such innovations have relevance beyond competitions, particularly in promoting energy awareness and contributing to India's vision of energy self-reliance and Viksit Bharat @2047.
He urged schools to explore the practical use of students' innovative models and encouraged students and teachers to take their ideas to villages and communities to create awareness about renewable and green energy.
In the Governor’s Quiz Competition, KGBV Lumla secured the first position, followed by GSS Zemithang and GSS Mukto.
In the Science Seminar, VKV Kitpi stood first, while GSS Bomba and Government Town Secondary School, Tawang, secured the second and third positions respectively.
In the Science Exhibition, GSS Kitpi emerged winner, followed by GHSS Lumla and KGBV Lumla.
The winning teams will represent Tawang district at the State-level competitions.
The programme aimed to strengthen scientific curiosity, innovation and experiential learning among students and encourage young minds to develop solutions relevant to sustainable development and environmental conservation.
