ITANAGAR, Aug 31: The IMD on Monday forecast rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in several districts of Arunachal Pradesh from September 1, with weather conditions likely to remain active in parts of the state over the next few days.
According to the district-wise warning issued by the Meteorological Centre here, Shi-Yomi, Dibang Valley, East Kameng, Papum Pare, Anjaw, Changlang and Longding are likely to witness thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by rain on Tuesday.
As per the IMD, West Kameng, East Kameng, Papum Pare, Anjaw, Changlang and Longding have been placed under a weather watch, with the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and rainfall.
On Thursday, Pakke Kessang, Papum Pare, Anjaw, Changlang and Longding are likely to experience similar weather conditions.
The weather system is expected to gradually weaken thereafter, with Pakke Kessang, Papum Pare, Anjaw and Changlang likely to remain under watch on Friday.
The warning map indicates that most districts in the state are expected to remain under no-warning conditions during the period.
However, given the possibility of localised thunderstorms, lightning and rainfall, residents in the affected districts have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions, particularly during periods of intense weather activity. (PTI)
