ITANAGAR, Sep 3: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik has extended warm greetings to the people of the State on the eve of Janmashtami, a major Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu.
In his message, the Governor said the festival commemorates the divine birth of Lord Krishna and celebrates his timeless teachings, which continue to inspire humanity towards love, compassion, truth, harmony and pluralism.
He said the occasion reminds people of Lord Krishna’s message in the Bhagavad Gita to perform their duties with sincerity and dedication, without attachment to the fruits of their actions, while remaining committed to the path of righteousness.
The Governor also called upon people to serve their families, communities and society with humility, selflessness and devotion. He prayed that the blessings of Lord Krishna bring peace, joy and prosperity to every household and that His divine wisdom guide all towards a life of purpose, dignity, compassion and righteousness.
