ITANAGAR, Sep 4: A mega blood donation camp was organised at the Police Training Centre (PTC), Banderdewa, on Friday with the participation of police personnel and trainees, resulting in the collection of 79 units of blood.
The camp was organised in collaboration with TRIHMS, Naharlagun, RK Mission Hospital, Itanagar, and Arunachal Life Saving Foundation to promote voluntary blood donation and create awareness about its importance in saving lives.
The programme began with a motivational address by Ramesh Jeke, founder of Arunachal Life Saving Foundation, who highlighted the significance of voluntary blood donation and encouraged participants to contribute to the noble cause.
Addressing the gathering, Dusu Kaling, Principal, PTC Banderdewa, emphasised the importance of regular voluntary blood donation and urged police personnel and trainees to actively participate in such initiatives. He said even a single donation can help save lives and provide hope to patients in need.
As a mark of appreciation for their contribution towards the successful conduct of the camp, the PTC Principal felicitated Ramesh Jeke, Dr Tashi Taleng and Dr Mary Kino of TRIHMS, and Dr S Nada of RKM.
The collection of 79 units is expected to strengthen the availability of blood for patients requiring transfusion and emergencies. The PTC said the initiative reflected its commitment to community service, social responsibility and the noble cause of “Donate Blood, Save Lives.”
