NAGAR, Sep 5: To mark the Teachers’ Day celebrations, the Arunachal Pradesh Technical Teachers’ Association (APTTA) conducted a voluntary blood donation (VBD) drive across six Govt Polytechnic Colleges and one Govt Engineering College in the State, in which 97 units of blood were collected
The initiative saw active participation from students, faculty members and staff from the participating technical institutions across the districts.
The event aimed to promote the importance of voluntary blood donation, encourage youth participation in humanitarian activities and contribute towards ensuring the availability of safe blood for patients in need.
The participating institutions included Rajiv Gandhi Govt Polytechnic -Itanagar, Govt Polytechnic College - Dirang, GPC - Ziro, GPC – Pasighat, GPC - Roing, CP Namchoom Govt Polytechnic College-Namsai and Govt Engineering College-Tezu.
The blood donation camps were conducted in coordination with the concerned Zonal General hospitals, District Hospitals & Arunachal Life Saving Foundation. Necessary medical screening and safety procedures were followed to ensure the well-being of all voluntary donors. The initiative reflected the strong commitment of the technical education fraternity towards social responsibility and community service.
Students, faculty members, and staff participated enthusiastically and contributed to spreading awareness about the life-saving importance of voluntary blood donation. A total of seven (7) technical institutions participated in the camps, through which 97 units of blood were successfully collected.
The programme demonstrated the collective spirit and social commitment of the teaching fraternity of technical education under Directorate of Higher & Technical Education, GoAP towards contributing to a noble cause and serving society.
