40 teachers honoured with State Teachers’ Award 2026 in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, Sep 5: Forty teachers from across Arunachal Pradesh were honoured with the State Teachers’ Award 2026 in recognition of their dedication, commitment and significant contribution to the education sector.

The award ceremony was held as part of the Teachers’ Day celebration at the DK Auditorium of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona attended the programme along with Urban Affairs Minister Balo Raja, who was the chief guest.

Congratulating the awardees, Sona said teachers remain at the heart of every meaningful transformation in education. He highlighted their role in nurturing generations of learners and said their patience, knowledge and dedication help shape not only successful students but also responsible, confident and capable citizens.

The Education Minister expressed appreciation for the commitment of teachers working across the State and said their contribution extends beyond classroom teaching. By guiding, mentoring and encouraging students, teachers play an important role in building the foundation of a progressive society.

Raja, in his address, lauded the service and dedication of teachers and described them as “true nation-builders”. He said teachers not only impart knowledge but also nurture young minds, shape character and instil values that guide students throughout their lives.

Raja expressed gratitude to the teaching fraternity for its selfless service and invaluable contribution towards shaping the future of children and the nation. He also extended his greetings and appreciation to all teachers and mentors on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.

The selection of 40 teachers for the State Teachers’ Award reflects the State government’s recognition of the vital role played by educators in strengthening the education system and improving learning outcomes.

The ministers conveyed their best wishes to the awardees and expressed hope that their achievements and continued commitment would inspire other members of the teaching fraternity and contribute towards further strengthening education in Arunachal Pradesh.
