62 best-performing teachers felicitated in Tawang

TAWANG, Sep 5: Sixty-two best-performing teachers from across Tawang district were felicitated on Teachers’ Day for their contribution to the academic success of students who secured 100 per cent results in their respective subjects in this year's CBSE Class X and XII examinations.

The felicitation programme was held at the auditorium of Government Higher Secondary School, Tawang, and was organised to recognise the dedication and sincerity of teachers in improving academic performance in the district.

Addressing the gathering, Tawang Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo said teaching should not be viewed merely as a profession involving classroom instruction, but as a responsibility to shape an entire generation. She urged teachers to carry this sense of responsibility throughout their careers.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by teachers serving in remote and far-flung areas, Angmo appreciated their commitment to educating children and said the impact of investment in education may not always be immediately visible, but remains lasting and transformative.

She also emphasised the role of education in sustainable development and called upon teachers to adopt a long-term vision focused on creating a responsible, informed and sustainable society.

DDSE Hridar Phuntsok congratulated the teachers and thanked the Deputy Commissioner for initiating the felicitation. He said such recognition would encourage the awardees and motivate others to strive for academic excellence.

Phuntsok attributed Tawang’s strong performance in the CBSE Class X examination, in which the district secured the top position among Arunachal Pradesh districts this year, to the collective efforts of teachers and the support and supervision of the district administration.

The programme concluded with the felicitation of all 62 teachers, acknowledging their contribution to academic excellence and nation-building.
