ITANAGAR, Sep 6: In a significant humanitarian initiative to extend immediate relief and solidarity to the families affected by the recent devastating fire mishap at Gandhi Market, Daporijo, the Arunachal Youth Organization-Upper Subansiri District Unit (AYO–USDU) organized a two-day emergency relief donation and crowd funding drive.
The team set up temporary camp office at Chariali road, Gandhi Market, Daporijo, where members of the public were earnestly appealed to contribute in cash or kind according to their capacity and willingness, towards providing immediate relief assistance to the fire-affected families. The two-day campaign was led by Leyu Tajar Nilling, president, and Menter Gara, secretary, AYO- USDU, with the active endorsement and guidance of Reri Talin Mengnia, Organizing chairman; Tapak Jeke, Organizing secretary; and Jun Pobo, Overall In-charge.
Through the generous voluntary contributions of the people, a total amount of Rs 2,05, 421 was collected during the two-day campaign. The entire initiative was undertaken in a spirit of humanity, compassion and solidarity with the families who have suffered immense loss and hardship in the unfortunate fire tragedy.
The AYOUSDU team subsequently met the affected families and distributed the amount collected to 19 affected families this forenoon as immediate humanitarian assistance.
Speaking on the occasion, Nilling and Gara assured that AYO–USDU would continue to extend its voluntary services to the people of Upper Subansiri, particularly during times of natural disasters, unforeseen tragedies, health emergencies and other situations causing untold hardship and suffering.
Meanwhile, the AYO–USDU team has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the people of Upper Subansiri district for their generous voluntary contributions, unwavering support and solidarity with the fire-affected families during this hour of woes.
The overwhelming response from the public demonstrates that humanity stands above every division, and collective compassion can bring hope to those facing their darkest moments.
