Traffic restrictions announced in Itanagar ahead of Vice-President’s visit

ITANAGAR, Sep 7: The Itanagar Traffic Police has announced traffic and parking restrictions in the capital ahead of the visit of the Vice-President of India, CP Radhakrishnan.

The Vice President is scheduled to attend the special session of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and address its members on September 9

According to a public advisory issued by Traffic Dy SP Mago Tago, the restrictions will remain in force on Wednesday to facilitate smooth movement of traffic and ensure proper regulation during the Vice-President’s visit.

The stretch from JNK Traffic Point to the Mallo Tarin Government Higher Secondary School trijunction has been declared a “No Parking Zone” for all types of vehicles within the white-line markings of the road.

Similarly, the stretch from Hotel Arun Subansiri Point to Donyi Polo International Hotel has also been declared a No Parking Zone for all vehicles on the day.

The Traffic Police has advised commuters and residents of the Lobi area to use the alternative route from Lobi Panch Ali to Niti Vihar Point via Mob-II Road to help maintain smooth traffic flow.

The advisory has been issued in public interest, and vehicles found parked in violation of the order will be towed away and dealt with under the relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

The Traffic Dy SP said the Officer-in-Charge, Traffic Itanagar, along with the Motor Vehicle checking and towing team, has been directed to ensure effective enforcement of the traffic restrictions and facilitate smooth vehicular movement during the visit.
