ZIRO/YACHULI, Sep 7: A voluntary blood donation (VBD) camp and comprehensive health screening drive was successfully conducted at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Yachuli for local police personnel.
The initiative was organized by the Blood Centre of Gyati Takka Zonal General Hospital (GTZGH) Ziro, in active collaboration with PHC Yachuli and the Keyi Panyor District Police, drawing strong participation from officers dedicated to supporting community healthcare needs.
The event combined life-saving blood donations with preventive health checks, including evaluations of hemoglobin levels, blood pressure, pulse rate, random blood sugar, and blood grouping. Medical staff identified four cases of hyperglycemia, three cases of anemia, two cases of low blood pressure, and one case of hypertension.
All affected personnel received immediate medical counseling, prescribed treatment and official referrals for necessary follow-up care at higher medical centers.
Key medical arrangements were spearheaded by Dr Tana Tath, SMO (SG) and Medical Officer In-Charge PHC Yachuli, alongside Dr B Natung, DMO Keyi Panyor.
Leadership from Superintendent of Police Keni Bagra and Deputy Superintendent of Police Hage Nado proved instrumental in mobilizing police personnel to participate in the drive, which successfully yielded a total of 14 blood units.
Health officials highlighted that voluntary donations remain vital for keeping local blood banks stocked for emergencies in remote districts, while regular check-ups safeguard the fitness of frontline officers. Organizers expressed deep gratitude to all donors and police leadership, reaffirming their commitment to hosting similar preventive health drives across the region in the future. (DIPRO)
