ITANAGAR, Sep 8: Vice President CP Radhakrishnan arrived at Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar, on Tuesday evening on a two-day visit to Arunachal Pradesh. The Vice President was accorded a warm welcome at the airport by Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik, Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao, Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak and other dignitaries.
Welcoming Radhakrishnan to the “Land of the Rising Sun”, Khandu said Arunachal Pradesh was honoured to have him in the state and expressed hope that his visit would be memorable and meaningful, reflecting the warmth of its people, the beauty of its mountains and the richness of its tribal heritage.
During his visit, the Vice President is scheduled to address a Special Session of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
He will also visit the Assembly Gallery-cum-Museum, Nyedar Namlo, Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum and Donyi Polo Mission School for the hearing and visually impaired.
The Vice President’s visit is expected to further strengthen the constitutional and institutional ties between the Centre and the Northeastern state.
