ITANAGAR, Sep 9: Vice President C P Radhakrishnan, who was on a two-day visit to Arunachal Pradesh, planted a sapling of Indian Sandalwood (Santalum album) in the front lawn of Lok Bhavan, Itanagar, on Wednesday, marking the conclusion of his maiden visit to the State.
The Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik, along with officials and staff of Lok Bhavan, was present on the occasion.
Speaking post the plantation, the Vice President expressed admiration for the serene surroundings, lush greenery, and well-maintained landscape of Lok Bhavan. He appreciated the harmonious blend of nature and infrastructure, which, he said, creates a peaceful and welcoming environment befitting the spirit and cultural ethos of Arunachal Pradesh.
