EKTA NAGAR (GUJARAT), Sep 11: The first-ever Press Information Bureau (PIB) press tour for media representatives from Arunachal Pradesh concluded on Friday at Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, with a visit to the Statue of Unity and the Sardar Sarovar Dam.
The nine-member media delegation visited the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue, and the Sardar Sarovar Dam built across the Narmada River on the final day of the five-day exposure tour.
The journalists paid floral tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and undertook a guided tour of the Statue of Unity complex, including the viewing gallery and other facilities. They also interacted with Additional Collector Narayan Madhu, who briefed them on the development of Ekta Nagar and various initiatives undertaken in the region.
The visit also featured an interaction with members of the Rathwa tribal community, providing an opportunity for cultural exchange between Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat. The Arunachal journalists participated in traditional dances with members of the Rathwa community and exchanged greetings by presenting traditional scarves from Arunachal Pradesh.
The five-day tour provided the delegation with exposure to Gujarat’s development initiatives across various sectors. The journalists visited the Dholera Greenfield Smart City, Sabarmati Multimodal Transport Hub, GIFT City and AMUL, gaining firsthand insights into developments in smart infrastructure, transportation, finance, technology and the dairy cooperative sector.
The delegation also experienced Gujarat’s cultural heritage through participation in a traditional Garba performance.
The tour provided the Arunachal media delegation with an opportunity to gain broader perspectives on India’s development journey while facilitating cultural interaction between the Northeast and western India.
The exposure visit concluded with the delegation carrying back experiences and insights from Gujarat’s initiatives in infrastructure, technology, industry, cooperative development and cultural heritage.
