LONGDING, Sep 11: In a joint operation, the security forces apprehended one insurgent of NSCN-K (Ang-Mai) from a remote village in Longding district.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation was launched by Assam Rifles (Khonsa Battalion and Longding Battalion), Army and Arunachal Pradesh Police in the Gen Area Votnu.
Displaying swift action, professional excellence, and relentless pursuit, Assam Rifles played a decisive role in the successful apprehension of the NSCN-K (Ang Mai) insurgent, identified as Pigang Gangsa (30), a “self styled lieutenant (No 21400)” of NSCN-K (Ang Mai) from village Votnu.
During the operation, the security forces recovered one 7.65 mm pistol, one magazine, and six live rounds of ammunition from the apprehended insurgent.
The apprehended individual along with recovered items has been handed over to Arunachal Pradesh Police for further investigation and legal proceedings.
