BORDURIA, Sep 13: Tezian Matey of Paniduria village was crowned the winner of the Nocte Idol Season 1 at a grand finale held at the Towang Lowangdong Auditorium here on Saturday, marking a historic milestone for the Nocte community.
The musical contest, organised to provide a platform for emerging singers from the community, culminated in an evening of electrifying performances attended by a large gathering of music lovers, dignitaries and supporters.
Minister for Forest and Environment, Geology and Mining and DoTCL Wangki Lowang, who attended the finale as chief guest, congratulated Matey and appreciated all the finalists for their dedication and participation. He lauded the organisers for promoting local talent and suggested that the initiative could be expanded into a “Tirap Idol” in the next edition.
Guest of Honour and MLA Tseten Chombay described the event as a historic platform for the Nocte community and encouraged the contestants to aim for larger platforms, including Arunachal Idol and Indian Idol.
MLAs Wanglin Lowangdong and Chakat Aboh were also present at the programme.
In the final results, Chinwang Dada was declared the first runner-up, followed by Samban Sawin as second runner-up. Nokche Wangsa (Moktowa) secured third place, while Nokche Wangsa (Thinsa) and Ngoaban Moika finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
The winner received a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, while the first and second runners-up received Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000, respectively. The other three finalists were awarded Rs 20,000 each.
The event concluded with a musical programme and dinner, celebrating local talent and the cultural heritage of the Nocte community.
The successful culmination of Nocte Idol – Season 1 not only crowned its first winner but also ignited a new cultural movement, inspiring young talents to dream bigger, perform boldly, and carry forward the rich musical heritage of the Nocte community.
