ZIRO, Sep 17: The Lower Subansiri district unit of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) organised a District Workers’ Convention at Bulla Farm Conference Hall, Old Ziro, bringing together workers and employees from various government and non-government departments.
Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak, Deputy Commissioner Oli Perme and former Minister Tage Taki attended the convention, which focused on labour welfare, workers’ rights and issues concerning the working community.
The convention was held around the BMS philosophy of “Rashtra Hit, Udyog Hit, Mazdoor Hit”, emphasising national interest, industrial development and workers’ welfare.
The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of a lamp, followed by a welcome address by Yom Bada, secretary of the BMS Lower Subansiri unit.
State and district-level BMS and trade union leaders addressed the gathering and spoke on issues concerning workers and labour welfare. The convention also featured addresses by former Minister Tage Taki, Chairman of the Arunachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (APB&OCWWB), and other invited dignitaries.
The proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks by Bullo Babu, president of the BMS Lower Subansiri District Unit, followed by community fellowship and distribution activities.
The organisers expressed gratitude to trade union representatives, departmental employees and workers for their participation and support in the convention.
