ZIRO, Sep 19: The NSS Unit of Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Sciences University (IGTAMSU), Ziro, organised the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat – Rashtriya Sankalp Samaroh” on Friday to create awareness among youth about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promote a drug-free society.
Vice-Chancellor Prof K Satya Lakshmi, HOD, Department of Commerce and Management Anwar Hussain, NSS volunteers, students and members of the university community participated in the programme.
The programme began with ceremonial lighting of the lamp and rendition of “Vande Mataram”. A signature campaign was also conducted, with students and participants expressing their commitment to preventing substance abuse and promoting healthy lifestyles.
NSS Programme Coordinator T Bidyananda Singh highlighted the role of youth in creating awareness about substance abuse and contributing to a healthier and responsible society.
The programme concluded with an online mass pledge, during which participants pledged to stay away from drugs and substance abuse and encourage others to adopt healthy and responsible lifestyles.
The NSS volunteers and students reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the NashaMukt Yuva campaign and contributing to the vision of a healthier and Viksit Bharat. (DIPRO)
