ITANAGAR, Sep 21: The Solatium Claimant Association of Potin to Bopi and Joram to Koloriang under Trans-Arunachal Highway alleged Commissioner cum Secretary, Land Management, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh, AK Singh, of deliberately preventing payment of solatium with interest in compliance with the order of the High Court, dated March 22, 2022.
“We have submitted several representations to the Commissioner cum Secretary, Land Management, requesting him for payment of solatium in compliance with the court order, but he has been deliberately neglecting to respond. Further we have physically met the Commissioner, requesting him to obtain fund from the central government (MoRTH). He has refused to process the file. He even instructed the concern DCs to not process the bill for payment of solatium,” the Association wrote to the Chief Secretary.
Calling the move of the Commissioner deprivation of legal and constitutional rights of the land owners, the Association has demanded immediate initiation of disciplinary proceedings against the officer, citing violation of the court order.
Also demanding grant of prosecution sanction against Singh so that the Association can lodge FIR against him, it also urged for the payment of the solatium with interest.
