ITANAGAR, Sep 22: The final Photo Electoral Rolls for all 60 Assembly Constituencies of Arunachal Pradesh were published on Tuesday following completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, 2026.
According to the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Arunachal Pradesh, the final electoral roll has 6,96,026 electors, including 3,43,709 males, 3,52,315 females and two third-gender electors. The gender ratio stands at 1,025, while the elector-population ratio is 43.61.
The SIR began in June following instructions from the Election Commission of India.
Prior to the SIR, the State had 8,87,505 electors as of June 2, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Pawan Kumar Sain said.
He said enumeration forms were distributed to all 8,87,505 electors through BLOs, of which 7,18,046 were received back. The remaining 1,69,459 electors were excluded from the draft roll, with the reasons categorised as absent/untraceable (54,678), shifted (78,980), death (25,573), duplicate (4,947) and others (5,281).
The draft electoral roll published on July 21 contained 7,18,046 electors. Of these, 6,32,871 were either mapped as self or as progeny, while 85,175 remained unmapped. Notices were subsequently served to the unmapped electors and another 1,33,413 electors with logical discrepancies, for verification during the notice phase from July 21 to September 18.
During the claims and objections period from July 21 to August 20, a total of 18,598 forms were received through online and offline modes. Following verification and hearings, 8,803 electors were added and 1,924 deleted from the draft roll. The CEO's office said 28,899 electors were found ineligible during the hearing process, whose documents were found inadmissible/unsatisfactory.
The final roll can be verified at the offices of Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and Booth Level Officers (BLOs). Digital copies are also available on the CEO Arunachal Pradesh website, Sain said.
The final electoral roll for service voters, with July 1, 2026 as the qualifying date, was also published on Tuesday, with 5,552 service electors enrolled.
An appeal against an ERO’s decision may be filed before the District Magistrate within 15 days of publication of the final roll. A second appeal may be preferred before the Chief Electoral Officer within 30 days of the District Magistrate’s order.
The CEO said applications for inclusion, correction or deletion may be submitted through Forms 6, 8 and 7 respectively, either online or offline. For election-related assistance, citizens may contact the State Contact Centre at 1950.
Soft copies of the final electoral rolls without photographs were also handed over to authorised representatives of recognised national and state political parties, he added.
