KHONSA, Sep 23: The Department of Tirap, Changlang and Longding Affairs (DoTCL), in collaboration with the Tirap district administration, organised a one-day career counselling programme for indigenous APST Class X pass-outs and college students at the Panchayat Hall here on Wednesday.
The programme aimed to help students explore diverse career opportunities, make informed choices and plan their future. It also provided guidance to UPSC and APPSC aspirants through interactions with experienced officers and professionals.
In his inaugural address, Deputy Commissioner Tirap Badonlum Tawsik encouraged students to explore the wide range of career opportunities available and strive for excellence in their chosen fields. He urged UPSC and APPSC aspirants to make the most of the sessions and benefit from the experiences of the resource persons.
The day-long programme featured interactive sessions on various career avenues, including defence careers by Col Ankit Harjai, CO, 44 Assam Rifles; UPSC Civil Services by Aditya, SP, and Namneet Singh, ADC; career preparation by Toko Kacha, CO, Soha; travel and hospitality by tour operator Khunwang Tangjang; and IT and AI by Mamta Shrivastava, DIO.
The sessions provided participants with practical insights into career pathways, competitive examinations, emerging sectors and skills required in the evolving professional landscape.
CO Bari Basip Techi Anya, IPR representative Gawang Sumpa, UDC, and other officials attended the programme. A total of 181 participants took part. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by CO Bomiyir Dirchi.
