ITANAGAR, Sept 24: The 51-foot bronze statue of Lord Parshuram at the sacred Parshuram Kund in Lohit district is nearing completion, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein said on Thursday.
Sharing a snapshot from the site, Mein said the statue, being developed as the ‘Statue of Strength’, symbolises devotion, strength and the region’s spiritual heritage.
The foundation stone for the statue was laid by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on May 21, 2022.
According to Mein, the statue is currently undergoing final finishing works and landscaping and is scheduled to be unveiled in January 2027 on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti.
The unveiling is expected to mark a significant milestone in efforts to promote the cultural and spiritual heritage associated with Parshuram Kund.
